UNESCO has officially recognized Rwanda’s traditional ‘Intore’ dance as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Known for its graceful movements and vibrant attire, the ‘Intore’ dance has been a cornerstone of Rwandan culture for centuries.
The dance, often performed during significant ceremonies and celebrations, symbolizes bravery, honor, and the rich history of the Rwandan people. The UNESCO designation aims to preserve and promote this cultural treasure for future generations.
Rwandan cultural ambassador, Jean-Claude Uwizeye, remarked, “This recognition is a testament to the resilience and beauty of our traditions. It is an invitation for the world to engage with and appreciate Rwandan culture.”
